POINTS TO CONSIDER

 

  • After the panels are unpacked for fabrication, they should be allowed to acclimatize in an environment close to the humidity and temperature conditions of their intended place of use.
  • Panel pieces awaiting fabrication should be wrapped in a protective material such as stretch film until the finishing stage and protected from moisture and wind.
  • The pieces should not be exposed to direct sunlight until assembly and finishing are completed.
  • When designing products to be manufactured from solid wood panels, the joining and movement directions of the panel should be taken into account, and the design should suit the natural characteristics of solid wood boards.
  • Joining and assembly methods and tools suitable for the characteristics of solid wood boards should be used.
  • PVA D3, PVA D4 or POLYURETHANE adhesive should be used for assembly, and joints relying only on instant adhesives should be avoided.
  • When painting and finishing, leaving one face untreated must be strictly avoided; both faces of the product should be coated with film layers of equal thickness.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE USE OF SOLID WOOD PANEL FURNITURE

 

  • Because of the natural characteristics of timber, furniture made from solid wood panels should not be exposed directly to sunlight for long periods.
  • For products intended for outdoor use, it is recommended that they be manufactured from boards joined by lamination.
  • Where the material will be used as stair treads, the suitability of floor moisture conditions must be checked, and additional precautions should be taken if the conditions are unsuitable.
